It was a simple enough tool that I would use it with students as well, if you are working on a video assignment. If you are interested in adding some simple videos to your course, I encourage you to experiment with Lumen5. Given that the slick tool is free, however, I find these constraints quite bearable. You have little control over the color of the content on the screen, for example, and it’s difficult to deal with awkward line breaks. Making the transcript took me less than ten minutes overall. After applying formatting to make the file easy for a screen reader to navigate, I saved it as a PDF and uploaded it to my own website. I created a transcript for my video by copying the text out of Lumen5 and pasting it into a Word document. The text in the video is not readable by a screen reader. Students with visual impairments do need a transcript of the text of the video however. All of the text is already on the screen. As there is no voice-over, you do not need to add a closed caption file. Since the finished video is downloaded as an MP4 file, it is easy enough to open the downloaded file in another program, like Camtasia, if you want to add a voice-over. Lumen5 does not allow for voice-over, only the soundtracks as background music. For the work that I would do, the free version will likely suffice. ![]() If you want to remove that logo or record in a higher resolution, you have to pay a hefty fee of $49/month. The free videos do have a Lumen5 logo at the end. I used the free version of the tool, which allows you to create an unlimited number of videos in 480p video quality. I spent about three hours on the video, most of which was spent being overly picky about images and the background music. The result of my project is the following video:Īll in all, I’m quite happy with the results. I decided to experiment with a digital handout on my course website that explains the labor-based grading system to students (See Inoue, 2014), paired with a tip-filled infographic on how to do well in the course. Lumen5 even provides a help page on downloading and sharing your video to a various social networks. Once the video is ready, you download the MP4 file and upload it wherever you’d like to share it with your students. Once you are happy with your video, you click the Render button and wait about ten minutes for the video to process. You can also choose from one of the free-to-use soundtracks or upload your own. For the images, you choose the media tab, and then you can either search the libraries available in Lumen5 for an image or you can upload media of your own. To change the text, you just click on the pane and type. Once the first draft of your video is auto-generated, you can spend time editing the draft by changing the text on the panes and choosing a different image, video, or icon to represent the content. It might be a photo of a person writing, an image of hands on a keyboard, or a picture of a notebook and pen on a table. For example, if the text talks about writing a paper, Lumen5 will add a photo that shows something related to writing. In addition to sorting the text onto the panes, Lumen5 pairs the content with an image (either in public domain or free to use) based on the keywords it finds in the text. If your sentence is long, it is divided into two panes. ![]() Each sentence in your content is displayed on a pane. Whether you have pasted in a link or the text for your video, Lumen5 next adds your content to a series of video panes, similar to slides in a slide deck.

![]() ![]() Those of Middle Eastern or North African ancestry had greater disability progression over time, despite evidence of inflammatory disease activity, based on clinical relapses and MRI lesions, that was similar to individuals of Northern European ancestry. 10 In a study from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, people with MS of Middle Eastern or North African ancestry had disease phenotypes that were different compared with an age- and sex-matched group of people with MS of Northern European ancestry. In a US-based study, Black and Hispanic/Latinx people with MS had more rapid disability accumulation than white people with MS, even after adjusting for age, gender, and insurance type. 3 Subsequent 10-year follow-up of these individuals, however, showed that male sex was no longer a significant predictor of developing CDMS. 2 Conversely, among people with RIS followed for 5 years, male sex was independently associated with a nearly twofold elevated risk of developing an initial clinical event. 9 Moreover, a large cohort study among people with CIS showed that both sexes studied had similar risks of developing CDMS and disability progression. 8Īlthough epidemiologic studies show female persons are more likely to develop MS, meta-analysis of 9 studies (n=1,116) in people with CIS over approximately 4 years showed no statistically significant increase in female persons for conversion to CDMS (odds ration, 1.2 95% CI, 0.98 to 1.46). 6 Conversely, another study demonstrated in multivariate analyses that sex was not a significant predictor of disability. 1,5-7 This association may be dependent on disease subtype, considering a study evaluating both relapsing-remitting MS (RRMS) and primary progressive MS (PPMS) found median times from disease onset to EDSS score of 6.0 were 18 and 22.7 years for male and female individuals, respectively but not significantly different between male and female persons with PPMS. Numerous studies have suggested that male sex negatively influences long-term disability outcomes and is associated with a shorter time to disability accrual in MS. 2 Similarly, among people with RIS, lower age at diagnosis was independently associated with a higher risk of developing a first clinical event consistent with MS at 5 and 10 years of follow-up. 1 Among people with CIS, lower age of onset was associated with an increased risk of conversion to clinically definite MS (CDMS). ![]() 1 Although lower age at onset is associated with a longer time to onset of disability milestone, individuals who present with MS earlier in life often acquire significant disability at an earlier age compared with individuals with onset later in life. In this review, we discuss potential prognostic factors in MS, including demographics, clinical characteristics, MRI measures, and laboratory tests that may have utility in clinical practice to predict conversion of clinically isolated syndrome (CIS) and radiologically isolated syndrome (RIS) to MS (Table 1) and disease activity and disability accumulation (Table 2).Īge at MS onset is known to impact MS disease course, and increasing age at onset correlates with decreased time to onset of specific disability milestones (eg, Expanded Disability Status Scale scores of 4.0, 6.0 and 7.0). With the broad and continually increasing armamentarium of MS disease-modifying treatments (DMTs), there is an opportunity to tailor treatment decisions on an individual level to optimize clinical outcomes. Owing to the clinical heterogeneity of MS, an awareness of key features that have predictive value to identify those with a higher likelihood of having highly active disease and developing rapid disability accumulation is crucial to optimizing clinical outcomes over time. However, the annual outage rate elasticity of transmission lines of group 2 turns to be 0.33 while that of group 1 is 0.64. Results indicate that in both cases there is a significant log linear relationship between the transmission line outage and the line length. The method suggested is applied to analyze two sets of the 345 KV transmission line outage data of the Commonwealth Edison Company: group 1 contains transmission lines that had been installed before January 1974 group 2 consists of the lines that have been installed since January 1974. In this paper, a random effects Poisson regression model is used to quantify the relationship between the outage rate to the transmission line length. On December 7 and 8, Oncor held a public meeting to discuss the proposed Ramhorn Hill-Dunham 345 KV Transmission Line. The Cross Texas Transmission (CTT) 345kV Transmission Line Project was completed by Great Southwestern Construction and is one of MYR Group’s largest projects to date. One of the potentially influential factors is the length of the transmission line. The purpose of the proposed project is to: (1) Address reliability issues on the regional bulk transmission system, (2) alleviate congestion that occurs in certain parts of the transmission system and remove constraints that limit the delivery of power, (3) expand the access of the transmission system to additional resources, (4) increase the tr. Finding the factors that are related to varying transmission outage rates has been one of the major concerns of the reliability practitioners in the electric power industry. ![]() ![]() ![]() This wasn't the case in the original anime, however. The Prince and Princess were reincarnated as Usagi Tsukino and Mamoru Chiba and even before they recovered their memories, they succeed in finding each other once again. In the anime, when it seemed all hope was lost, the Queen used the Silver Crystal to seal away the Dark Kingdom's powers and sent her daughter, Prince Endymion, and the Sailor Guardians to be reborn on Earth during the 20th century. Everyone was reborn into the present day as a result. The Moon Kingdom itself, ruled by Queen Serenity, centered in Mare Serenitatis (the Sea of Serenity) was also home to Princess Serenity and her four guardians, later to be known as the Sailor Guardians. The original Silver Millennium, which existed thousands of years ago, is portrayed as an ancient Golden Age, marked by peace, prosperity, and good relationships between the people of Earth and Moon. Second, they were to watch over the evolution of Earth and protect it from any negative influence. Those who resided in the Moon Kingdom were long-lived beings and had two specific duties: First, they were to protect the Silver Crystal, a powerful "holy stone" which had been handed down through the generations. The anime showed Princess Serenity being very good at Ice skating. According to Artemis, Ice skating was a popular sport.
